About the Artist

Jaki Hontiveros Lozano is a Manila-based visual artist whose work uses the human figure and botanical forms as a means of personal expression. A 2009 graduate of the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Fine Arts, she transitioned from design and advertising to paint full-time in 2013, exploring themes of identity, memory, and solace.

Since her first solo exhibition, Hero (2018), her subsequent shows—including Marigold Summer and Bloom (2022)—have explored stories of self-discovery and quiet acceptance. Alongside her studio practice, Jaki has been a faculty member at the UP College of Fine Arts since 2013, teaching figure drawing and painting techniques. Her style combines expressive, layered oils and palette knife work to capture both lightness and emotional depth.
